Only on this day,
The one day of the year
Where the celebrations
Of love occur,
The inexplicable unity of two people
Coming together as one.
I write this soft serenade
For you to hear.
Listen well
It is not often
I break down my barricade
To let you know
Exactly how I feel
What I feel,
So hear I go.

With all of my heart
I cannot find words
That are strong enough
To convey my truest of feelings.
I often wonder if such a phenomenon is possible,
Yet I do not fret.
I know the meaning,
Of the life you have unknowingly given me
By awakening such feelings.
Every day is brighter,
My heart is lighter,
I strive to try my hardest
To achieve the best I can be,
However, it would not be possible,
If the rivers of love
Did not flow so freely within my veins.
I know this may sound absurd,
Or even a bit crazy,
But I know I have never experienced such a feeling,
In all the time I have lived.
Overwhelming, unpredictable, yet it is a comfort,
I feel truly alive within myself,
As I never have before.

A brilliantly bright light is shining,
Cascading through these open doors of mine,
Sending long lurking shadows cringing,
Guess who now fills this long held void,
of which I thought that none would ever enter,
But you broke my bounds,
Defied the danger signs,
Kept coming,
So I willingly let you in.

I love you, I need you here with me,
You are my one and only Valentine,
Thank you for setting me free.
