Frozen in retreat and too scared to hear the beat
love centers of the world close the doors on more
and sit as silent witnesses instead of full partakers
in the full wonder of soul and flesh combined.

Oh, there’s yellow like the sun, red for knowing love,
brown for the minute now, and blue for what’s out there,
all running in the race, sometimes not with grace,
but spinning counterclockwise to primary intent.

I bring them all in line but how hard it is to cry
and recall individual oft pleasure filled delight
in the following of only one component of me
blinded to the truth of all my many parts.

From brown to blue all hues of me reconnoiter at the heart
before the journey onward, up, or down to start again
and there they drink heartily of untainted reflections
and sup on the bounty of a mind in full recall.

To find that place it takes the will of the free kind
but to each there comes a time, sometimes many lives,
to cleanse through heart the dirt of past and to decide
to connect all the dots with one bold and solid line.

Pity me, my hand is weak, my line a squiggly mess,
but even the wise have been known to regress,
to think and plan again, to breathe more oxygen,
and simply do it better the second time around.

Yet be it a hundred, a thousand times or more,
when spirit guides, the humble kind, intermingle love
brown merges with the blue and shoots me into you
there to forever be your only beat of heart …
and maybe one day you’ll feel me there and say,
“Walk with me my solid line and I will steady yours”.

Helen

"and maybe one day you’ll feel me there and say,
“Walk with me my solid line and I will steady yours”."

I think we all, in one way or another, hope for this.

they say, each of us has our very own guardian angel....?????  Can't help but ponder that thought?  Why, you might ask?  Wull whose that guy always talking to me?  hehehhehehehe

That internal voice which we should listen to more...

Hugs for a very interesting and well done read....

Martie - yes, we do indeed but this isn't a perfect world.

Ethel - thanks for the read.  Glad you enjoyed.

LeeJ - Hmm? Voices - yes there are voices both inner and outer.  The inner is intuition and the outer - well, if it's a guy then for sure one of the few we can trust... but, let's remember that a sense of humour comes with the package.  Why else do we dance the tango when we've never learnt the steps?

That says it all.  Excellent indeed!
