Every day I picture you,
imagining your style.
I wonder what you'll look like
when I fin'lly see you smile.

I wonder how you'll kiss me,
how you'll hold me through the night,
or how you'll try to make it up
when we get in a fight.

Not sure if I even know you,
but I miss you just the same.
It's been lonely here without you...
I don't even know your name.

I've been praying, waiting for you;
try'n to love you with my life.
I'm saving myself for you,
and the day that I'm your wife.

He was a man of sorrows
...I am a girl of tears.

I believe. And I hope he understands just what he has in you...

(took me a while to read GG, smile, your title wasn't my favorite topic tonight, but oh, now I understand)

Ser,
Yeah the poem wasn't written for any big audience, despite that I'm posting it here, and so I didn't see much point in making it all too atractive for everyone. It is what it is, and honestly so. I'm glad you understand. And thanks for having the faith to read it, despite. Figured instead of being horribly depressed for Vday every year I'd just make or get a gift each year to give to whoever it is... I know, I know, I'm sappy. Anyway, thank you again.

Always, Alyssa

I knew when I read the title that it had to be what you "futured" for yourself Alyssa...

a wonderful poem...save it..
"but I miss you just the same.
It's been lonely here without you...
I don't even know your name."

I hope someday for myself to find that special someone again

You are so special, as are your words.

M,
I'm predictable like that, aren't I? When I find him I'm sure you'll all hear about him long before I call him my husband... lol
I hope that you might find that special someone again, as well. Thank you for your reply this morning...

Gentle Spirit,
how kind of you... thank you. I feel as though I probably sound like some little kid who doesn't understand that love isn't always Kodak. But I know that... and I'm willing to work for it. This is the hopeless romantic dream that I won't let go of. And sheesh... why am I explaining myself? lol ...thanks again for your words.

Alyssa, I explain myself at times and am certain I don't know why either, but it is something we do in the sharing of our poetry.
Yours is wonderful and I admire your thoughts. Hold on to your dreams dear.

Alyssa,
Guess that makes you my favorite sap! You ARE an amazing girl and whoever he may be he is a LUCKY guy. You know me, I adore die-hard romanticism. You rock!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Precious, GG.  Keep the faith (As if you wouldn't?)!   I remember the transition between high school and that which comes after...  It's a strange time, one that often calls us to rush.  There is no rush or hurry-it's an illusion!  Take your time, GG.
Grinning at ya!

Enjoyed how well you captured the time between!

I swear that this could could have been a poem that I would have written when I was your age. I understand those thoughts and feelings ~ and might I add, you expressed them very well, Golden Girl.

I used to wonder what my future husband was doing at any particular moment. I used to say out loud as I looked up to the sky, "Here I am! Come find me! I'm waiting for you!"

The man you finally finds you, will be fortunate indeed! ~ and may you be as fortunate!

Loving hugs,
Linda

Sappy? Hardly. High morals and ideals? Certainly so. The husband that might one day say, "this is my wife" should be able to beam when saying so, just as you will be honored to call him your husband.

It's a and one that we hope you will repost in your future when a ring is bestowed as a promise, not as a possession.

Cathy,
I  go to a small alternative highschool only 3 hours a day, (when I even make that) and really don't talk much to anyone but the teachers there. My best friends are in their mid 20's, some of them even married already. So i'm in a bit of a different place than most highschoolers lol ...in some ways it makes taking my time a little easier, in other ways it makes it harder. I sure hope I can keep trying to take my time, though. Thanks for the advice. Hugs take care!

Linda,
yep, I've much the same thing looking up at the stars... all while wondering if maybe he's looking at them, too. I know God is preparing us both for eachother (could take a while to prepare someone for me! lol). Hopefully God can do his work quickly... Thanks for your understanding reply.

Sunshine,
you really are sunshine because your reply was bright and warming! I think I'll write one every year until I'm married... then I can post them all together. May be one year, may be ten (I really hope it isn't ten, lol... but, whatever it takes!). I hope I'm someone he can be proud of, because I know already that I'll be proud of him... Really this was a thoughtful reply, thanks so much

Marty,
goodness how kind of you to read that and then write again. You don't know how much I appreciate it... The hope is true! Thanks you, marty. Take care of yourself...
