Pond with swans and duck by Melissa Egan

***

At the pond of love

***

In silence I sit at the pond
watching the swans glide by.
My eyes take in all the beauty,
while I open my heart to
Your touch of love.

My reflection dances quietly
on the surface of the water.
As the breeze designs ripples
my image breaks into fragments.
Tiny patches of color
transform into hints to
the story of mankind.
Each little drop of water
reflects a piece of what has been
and I make no resistance
as my brain absorbs
the images of events
occurred since forever.

When I feel heavy with
all the sorrow of the world,
I fear to sink deep down
into channels of oblivion.
But a sharp beam of light
suddenly hits the water.
The reverberating sun blinds me
with its sparkling brilliance.
The golden light penetrates
my every single cell,
my heart and my soul.
All weariness is washed away
And I know it’s not too late
to start anew each day
to spread love
to touch all the hearts
traveling this world
in search of warmth.

I am renewed in my hope,
I am restored to wholeness
when I recognize
my own reflection
dancing within
the sparkling light,
of Love Divine …
and unperturbed,
like the swans
I continue to glide upon
the serene waters
of this life
in constant motion.

At the pond of love
we sit and hold hands
knowing that the Light
travels fast and brightens
our darkest nights.

Some days I feel I've wandered too deep into the jungle to ever know if the light was truly real - it's nice to read the faith of another -

Susan

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

Margherita, the touches of fantasy intermingled with spirituality always make your poems on love so very special to me.
I love reading your poetry. It reaches the innermost aspects of my being.

Hugs with much love,

You may not post often, but when you do?
You leave imagination in your wake...

This was a remarkable ripple, lady...
I still have a lot to learn from you.

Margherita, I wonder if it might be possible for me to use this painting picture of Ms. Egan's and how I might contact her for permission or if it is necessary?  I want to use it for a personal email message only.  Thanks.  Jo

Thank you Tommy, James, Ethel and Donna for your loving comments.

Sitting by the pond makes meditation easy and if we don't have one near, we still can imagine it ...

I grew up at a lake and I love to sit by the water.

Love, Margherita

Thank you James for bringing this up. You remind me that it is time to sit at the pond ... and to meditate.
