A February Dawn

my eyes lift
toward the pale, pale azure
wisped with white fluff
streaked with a pilot’s trails
drenched with the residue of sunlight

a clawing forms upon my heart
and just behind my eyes
a pool of tears collects
as I ponder
“Is there enough?”

a query forms within me,
“Is there enough?”
enough what?
I don’t understand
the fullness of the question
yet the question remains;
it is filled with power
it creates acrid tears of longing
without comprehension
of for what the longing clamors
in its silent weeping

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

What came to my mind here after reading your poem is the verse that says that the spirit is willing but the body is weak... Sometimes, I believe that we just don't know what the spirit is trying to tell us, but, oh, what a beautiful beautiful cleansing experience it seems that you enjoyed here. Thank you for sharing -Bob
