~~~
Just sitting here tonight
Listening to the rain.
Forgotten are the kisses
Forgotten is the pain.
Now that I am older
Don’t see things quite the same.
Now that I am older
I look at what remains.
Reflections from the window pane
I envision what’s around.
I see a spark within myself
That’s trying not to drown.
Dwelling on a moment here
And listening to the rain.
That is all there is around me
Sound and rhythm keep me sane.
There’s something new and sacred
That births itself through storm.
I listen to the raindrops fall
And I forget to mourn.
~~~

Those sparks light candles...
you do a good job at that...

I know.

Jo,

I have some theories as to why. But they seem irrelevant when a moment like this is blessed by you. Thanks for sharing - I like this piece a lot.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is why I love washington, where I live...
because it rains constantly.
And I need to forget sometimes...
we all do.
Touching, beautiful poem.

Looks like all the good praise words are taken, but I think showing your vulnerability is a strong step in losing the mourn.  Ken

Jo, the window pane reflects your spirit Light.

May the rain wash away any loneliness and sorrow so that your inner spark may grow and shine and brighten your tomorrow!

You see beyond what your eyes do see...

Hugs with lotsa love,
