                Zen And Del

This is the space where I said it,
opened that sweet raw bleeding place
                where the answers live
        and let it run.
No hero status please,
I saw that it was needed
                              and so I gave.

When I give, I give freely;
if there is any cost, I pay.
I make no pretense, strike no poses,
give no grandstand posturing
                 of knowledge you’re
      too innocent to bear,
                    a pompous way to say
I think you’re stupid and weak.

This is the space where I laid it out,
          quiet, concise, free of any
               hubris I could find.
Those are my rules,
         to simply show things
               that I know and understand,
    and if I don't, refrain.

And so I said, then read,
and thought about the other things
                like preference and expectation,
and whether anything I’d said
             would be received
    without breaking any hearts,
           my own included.
Needed isn’t wanting and,
                        another of my rules,
I do not give unwelcome gifts.

This is the very space.
      Unwriting is a simple thing,
though it takes a certain serenity.
I could have done it all at once
but I chose the longer way.
    I held the key down,
read it once more just a word ahead
while letter by letter, space by space,
               it disappeared.

But the gift of your words is always welcome... and so I mourn what's lost. *S*

This is beyond excellence, my friend... I could see the words disappearing just ahead of my read... curse eyes that didn't move fast enough. *S*

But ink is quicker to bleed
only fire
might destroy the hurt...

I inked three pages today...
felt the muscles in my hands tighten
but the exercise was good
for the soul...

and the honor remains splayed
on the page...
no key to delete, honest remains
yet, it will end up hurting
someone...

no delete key
in splayed ink...

My heart feels this ... for my fingers couldn't stop the slow-mo action just this morning, and last night, and the day/night before~

This piece KNOWS me ... too, too well~

I am drawn to this ...~

You are hard to find everywhere. I came to your office yesterday but no one was anywhere.

Now I am reading this and it makes me worry. Send me email or call me, you are my friend. I will send you my number in case you don't have my card any more.

I have things to show you and questions but I am going to be waiting for that.

James

Words are often too easy.

We who write words overcome barriers and perhaps feel we can overcome all barriers.

I try to use the three times myself.

If at the end of three, I never ever managed ten since I have gone ballistic by then, I find another two days because sometimes they help and on others they dont.

Enjoyed your words.

Sometimes, what isn't here shows as much about the man as the words he leaves... Your rules, the poems you give us and the words erased... all show goodness beyond comparison. *S*

I'm glad I came back to read this again... when you get in touch with your friend, try to persuade him to post again! *S*

" I held the key down,

This gives me shivers...the build up to this final thing that is so hard to do...breaks my heart that they are gone, as I'm sure it did yours.
