Kokopeli dancers bending flute notes,
cascading
   each
      heartbeat
into
a confluence

rivers of passion flowing
up, down, around,
surrounding hidden crevices
of the mind and soul

~unseen...only felt~

above the cliffs in shadow of night
a flight of the dreamers,
the midnight screamers sing
sway me, play me,
in heart of beat
convey me
~sighing, crying, dying
to be re-born in the phoenix
~everlasting~

as my kokopeli dancer continues
bending dreams
into harmony and synchronicity
encompassing the circle which is
...life...
and the sight of a dove in love
seeking the clouds beyond
(where even the rainbow dares to show)
can lighten the heart,
causing it to release cloudbursts
in a never-ending deluge of

memories
~holding onto the memories of you~
memories which lift the gift of love,
feathered moments from above
(where your heart resides)
ride the winds,
ride the winds
of change, slipping into my veins
releasing pain’s chains and seeping
into the marrow of me so I can see

~God~ as the sacred fires burn tonight
in pounding feet in beat of Earth’s heart
and time...
travels the rhyme lightly in my mind
and dances with spirits of old
so bold (not cowering shadows)
of untold millions speaking in rhyme
~it is time, it is time~
to circle the globe called Earth in remind

put down the hate put down the weapons
put down all the things that keep you
from the gateway to Peace on Earth

and enter into the slipstream
of Love,
where you needn’t be blind or deaf
to catch the tingle of an approaching storm,
to feel the rise of hair,
the taste of ionic change as you
breathe in the tiniest moments of Life
see and hear
the essence
as it surrounds you even when
your eyes and ears are handicapped
by excessive worldly input

and all the while,
kokopeli dancers can be seen
bending dreams into reality,
cascading millions of heartbeats
into a river of

One.

This raised the hair on the back of my neck..

I get that way when something truly spritual happens...felt it several times while attending pow wows, and several times when far from roads, connecting with the flute entities...again after reading this poem...

It is a feeling of being cleasened, perhaps..
This poem is like the burning sage smoke that is brushed into clothes, to purify...the delightful feeling of being freed from sin, if for only moments...

We are all one people...
Folding hands across my heart.

Kacy,
I'll place your slipstreams of love next to the ripples of peace and blend from you a more wonderful life.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is such a beautifully phased plea for an eternal wish of mankind.  Great job!!  Ken

Thanks dear Ken, you know that a music muse gifted this to me. Atahualpa/Imbaya music (thanks Cesar et al) (Ecuadorean music). I listen often to American native flute CD's as well as those from Ecuador.

Lauren, I appreciate that comment, as you are such a wonderful writer BTW, I am missing your writes!

This is wonderful, thank you for sharing it.

Just remember, the kokopeli also is a trickster.

Love this. This is the first time I have see the word Kokopeli outside of my little area of travel. We have a Kokopeli's 30 miles from here. It is a sub sandwich shop. Love eating there...though they raised the price a $1.00 a sandwich so I have been Boycotting the restraunt for a couple of months now. All my friends and I have. LOL! But I wander off topic. Love this poem Midnitesun. You have painted a wonderful picture upon this blue canvas today. Bravo!

I do keep that thought in mind, icebox, that the kokopeli character of the southwest is also known as a trickster. Thanks for reading, k dancer
Sauni, thanks for spending a moment here, and for your generous comment. So happy to have you active on the board again.
Kevin, wow, thank you for your time and reply! Glad that you enjoyed this one

Kacy~

'bending dreams

...life...'

There is word-magic dancing in your ink~
This is simply an outstanding penning~
I feel that with the easy flow of it ... it may have been one of those pieces that just came quietly and let your fingertips tell the story~
