Between the Lines

I heard you this time,
a soft playfulness in your voice
pleasing the mind of me,
picturing you standing there
thinking what I wish you to think.

Remembering words of once long ago
when not sure that you weren't
just someone dusted off my shelf
or a woven dream between moments lost
when the stranger in you
met the friend in me
and we became saturated
in feelings once forgotten.

So again I am:

~Into the Myst of It All~

They reign supreme,
those words I often wish to hear
and even though they don't float through the air
to electrify my ears, I let my thoughts pretend
to feel their breeze.

And when it touches me,
the charge I get gratifies the empty
waiting for your hold, at times startling me
with its power, embracing me in the warmth
of a yesterday, too soon forgotten.

Sometimes I feel helpless,
and I allow myself to call upon you
to give me strength to manage this life,
to control my emotions, to allow the current
to drift me beyond the words,
into the myst of it all.

With that comes the serenity
of knowing, the ability to lull myself
into a calmness, and in that stillness
I remember that there are no conditions needed,
(that we are who we are) and I am poised
to ease into...a life of balance.

You are my memory book,
pages beyond imagination
to fill my rainy days
with the unspoken words
when believing
takes away the stranger
in the myst of it all.

M

and the pages of your heart speak on in shifting warm summer breeze.

Though it has never stepped past fear
would you still accept my heart
knowing that it is all I have to give.
