Starfish dancing...on the jetty rocks
Barnacles clinging...awaiting a wash
Kelp clustering within...each cresting wave
Pacific blue carving...beige sandy grave

Slick wet sand...sticking...to searching toes

Salty air tingling...an upturned nose
Clouds puffing along...in a clear blue sky
One heart beating alone...wondering why

Love was swept away...that summer’s day
As he sailed away...into a fired red sunset;
And as a heartbeat froze...in a moment of lost warmth,
Unbearable angst painted itself...in a graying sky.

Yes, I can relate to a frozen heartbeat but you made me long for the sea.

Midnight

You've provoked words written in my head that I thought were forgotten.

Your words are brilliant.
