Heavy and moist the air
As jungle heat rising, in the velvet of dark and cavernous halls
Absent of leaf and languid in a primal beckoning
Aglow in a golden drape, invisible places
Consuming reasons that pant in the mists
Enlivening my skin with magic
Connecting me in ancient language
Rippling to the curve of spine and familiar rhythm
I know you…invisible and stoic in a regal gaze
That blushes first upon my cheek and next upon my thoughts
Still budded from a lingering spring, in ceaseless succulent rose
The winter, in it’s all and knowing sleep redeems me
Another reason longer, tender and aware in every perfect lace
Until I have restored the balance of caution and intimate speculation
Movement slowing in your pattern of stripe and honey buff
Feeling the hum of uncertainty, reflexive and gleam
Low in your throat that burn in strings against a starlight sky
And I can only wonder as I look into your eyes
If I shall be devoured, or lavished
Heavy and moist the air
Your breath upon my neck
