Crystalline Ice

The beauty of crystalline ice covering the copious
river banks
of the opulent season of winter.
She is an exciting paradox of earthly beauty
combined with
the wondrous beauty of nature.
She comes dancing on the wind
this beautiful season
of winter.
Dressed in her cool white gown made of snowy lace
covered with
shimmering diamonds of
iridescent snow and intricate slivers of clear mosaic ice.
She stands high atop the mountains of time,
and spreads her legacy of ice and snow with long icy finger tips.
As she gazes into the distance she realizes that this beauty is floating onto the wind,
like tiny grains of sand on
the beaches of eternity.
These minute grains of frozen ice, reaching high
upon the mountain tops
and into the valley below.
She is archaic and exquisite this temperamental
season of winter.
With her dress of crystalline
ice and lacey iridescent snow.

I had to re-read this several times and then concentrate letting the picture fix into my mind.

It is a picture I wont easily forget.

Well done Bonnie, you have painted something special.

Hey Lady...   How R U?  Good to see you, and have so missed your poems...

Winter has surely been raising some chilly hairs around here...but we've got a repreve, as in the 30's around here this week...

Your poem evokes a wintery image...one of gigantic proportions...true to it's name...lovely prose my friend....describing the emotions of nature.

Hello everyone

I was watching a movie called Snow Queen or Ice Queen and this is how Crystalline Ice came about.
Yepper it sure is cold. This morning it looks like the Ice Queen visited last night.

Thanks all for reading.
