from what room
did he come
when word spread

for whom
did he feel
such deep despair

that suddenly
he had
no will to live . . .

and disappeared
with folded wings

I wish I understood this one.

Your images are ever intriguing, but I fear this one is beyond me.

Perhaps you might indulge me with some guidance?

I do enjoy your poetry very much, but every now and then I need a bit of help.

serenity blaze,

This came from just an instant’s thought
of the idea of someone
I have not seen for a long time being gone.

The experience was sudden, pervasive,
a profound shock... wholly unexpected.

The title refers to a poem by Mathew Arnold
with the same title.

Thanks for reading.

John

this is kind of emotional.

I was thinking something with wings before I read your statement. Now I know that one will feel the same sadness when anything with  emotional touch  loses unexpectedly.

very good poem.
