With A Smile Like The Moon

Oh he could smile like the moon
and send them there;
knew it, and went there too,
seeking, seeking, always seeking.

Somewhere on the way
he tore his soul against a cloud
and let the light out, doomed himself
to seeking, always seeking.

Still he smiled and sent the ladies
even followed on occasion,
tried to fill his vacuum from their light
and failed each time, still seeking.

Waxing now in his own reflection
trying to shine, cursing as he fails,
he does what he knows, fail, pretend,
and seek with a smile like the moon.

It's ok if he likes you, but I wouldn't let him get too close.....

I think I'll try to avoid one such as this... I'm dim enough already. *G*

Seriously... this has an eerie feel I wasn't expecting from the title... left me shivering. *S* Fantastic write!

It can be a Cheshire Cat, or a Jack-O-Lantern....and you don't know until it's too late....

Library for this one, James.  Sounds like a man that knows his error ... which I would say is the path back to finding his light.  I really liked the depth of this and am going back up to read it again.   .....jo

I hope he figures it out, but I'm pretty sure he won't. Some men never qualify as anything but large boys, I'm afraid.....
