I come back to read you, again.
Furtive devotion, a physical
presence on this end, boneless
face never photogenic and always
misread (after a time purposely so),

and there, eyes, cool ponds, brows,
inquisitive, alert, a mouth
I’d reincarnate as Chapstick
to press, to heal, to share time in
your mirror (even brief, disposable),
unhurt by your distractions

When I look at your tiny photo
I have no bone or cartilage
and mollify in imploded silence,
a wee and weakened thing
somewhere behind the navel
of this aging carcass

Your fine pelage in genteel circlet,
a wisped diadem, nature’s garland
to the beau ideal, enfolds translucent
skin, (Oh, dare I go on?) the texture
incomparable, (the moon perhaps
before we knew it) unimaginable

I knew succor in your sanctioned
comments, words which ran like
mother’s fingers through a boy’s
jumbled scalp when nuzzling her apron,
fresh from a brutal world’s insult

We traded words from public view
but I, in steadfast fear of failure
and braced by fortune’s error
never told you how deep emotion was
interred or how close I press my face
to dream of your scent even now

This ink must pass for my blood
on pure pages this quill will never touch

Poets against the war is redundant

Richard

This touched me with it's truth of loving outpouring, and I wondered who, then let it go as better not to know.

God this tugs Richard and I agree with Martie, perhaps better remaining unknown but me thinks this person is very lucky to stir this in you.
Would you mind terribly if I sighed at the beauty in this?

You can touch without lifting a finger, p0werfully expressed, very emotional, romantic,
everything a woman would love to feel rolled up into one poem!

She is lucky to have such words, and you lucky to have such inspiration~

I do hope she inspires you more!

When the taste of milk and honey falls in sweet words from petaled lips, caressing and inviting, scattering the essence of love in poetic phrase...it's a moment to remember.

She certainly is very lucky to find such a romantic man in her lifetime indeed.

Heart felt - heart rending - oh the cries of the soul - I hope she will know - and that you will feel her embrace of your words

kinda sad that this person will never know...
is it fair to keep it a secret?
