Playing with words, attitudes, belief but if we dont live, how do we learn.

Dave

Moon my mother said "was always whitish"
Just like a man's backbone she used to say
On occasions
Red blazened with light was now my moonlight
And I dont smoke an ounce of stray
Looking at my world was a picture
Mother told painters captured them
Vivid pictures reigning through the heavens
Mother told often about them
Leaving the house was difficult
40lb pack on my back
Nearest place she said was dangerous
With this lot on my back
From a heart attack
Virtue on a slumped back
Mother always packed the pack with rocks
Woman always bent she said
"was once who didn't come back with socks"
Nice to see the new moons again
Pack lightly off my back
I can see the village needs men
And my brain is all they lack

You are so right DavePage.
Living and learning.  Teaching with heavy packs, or not.
With age comes wisdom, but our youth gets us to that point.

Enjoyed.
