The mountains, so beautiful they are,
as is the cloudless expanse of blue above
and though the trees are colored in
browns and grays, new leaves are waiting
to shoot open just in time to witness
the miracle of spring babies, birthing-
life-just as God intended it to be.
Bounded by all creation and still we know
this is not our home
we are just passing through this place
on the way to eternity.

Darkness blankets the valley as
the floor fills with the sound of weeping,
oh how the heart does ache and break
as friend and foe alike wield the enemy’s weapons,
wounding despite the provision of intention.
Faith alone allows one to proceed when the journey
grows long and unkind, but there is comfort
in the knowledge that we are not home yet
we are just passing through this place
on the way to eternity.

The church fills with music and singing,
angels crowd round to take in the symphony of song,
voices in unison lift to praise our God.
His Spirit, felt but unseen, is evidenced
by His ministering, as He washes clean the souls
of believers and even this, as beautiful
as it may be is not our home, we are
just passing through this place
on the way to eternity.

ah what a vision, holding hands with all your loved ones and 'passing' to a better place...
I would be honored to hold yours

thank you all...sigh...the only reason I can think of for loved one departing, is to make the ones of us remaining 'long for home' even more so.......sigh
