My Heart Knew Not Joy Until There Was Thee

On the parterre lays shattered denials,
Our faces now fractured with comely smiles,
Let this yearning sheen our hearts liquid moist,
For our love for each other has been voiced.

Sway to the cadence of two hearts now one,
These lilting strains are but our waltz begun,
Hauntingly winsome the violins sing,
Notes held aloft upon spurious wing.

Gilded lovelies I'd pen for thee dearest,
The threads of the tapestry I'd arrest,
And undo so that this moment in time,
Doth wed me to you, and gift us sweet rhyme.

My heart knew not joy until there was thee,
Gentlewoman ‘tis true love’s set me free.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

And in that shared freedom of being bound together for eternity, might you each grow, yet keeping the bond that brought you together.  This, a beautiful anniversary poem...

Indeed, more than a Hallmark moment...

This is a lovely sonnet and I especially liek these lines:

"Sway to the cadence of two hearts now one,
These lilting strains are but our waltz begun,
Hauntingly winsome the violins sing,
Notes held aloft upon spurious wing."
