Between the Lines

Resigned, relinquishing
this mind control of hope,
of expectation, of purpose
and love.

Once bound
by child's delight
in want of those trials
and errors of imperfection
and life's embrace...

It's a sign of my times,
a need to block out those emotions
that confuse this heart,
tempting me into tomorrow
when today...just is.

You could kiss me happy,
if only you knew.
You could step into my footsteps
and have total view.
You could share of my dreams
feel my heart in your hands.
It's a sign of my times,
this empty of plans.

Resigned, relinquishing
passively I submit to this fate.
Surrendering, I, to what I know
to be truth.

Hello nakdthoughts. This sounds forlorned. Very well written. You have captured the moment well and wed it to this paper canvas with excellent craftsmanship. Well done dearest friend.
