my own state

Each wanted a wife
they gazed into glass globes
for separate lovers
yet felt the pain of each other.

Each wanted the other's success
fruitful selves lacked sureness
joined at the hip
cleaved from an egg
one adopted another's rhythm

Each became distinct
after a surgeon's cut
each had the wife
consummated the separate love
but pain remained undivided

Separate loves were given
ambitions were driven
their fortune set in stone
liberty meant synchronous pain.
They were already programmed as one.

I'd have to agree this is quite interesting.
