Hast Thou Brushed a Morn in Hues of Cerise?

Hast thou brushed a morn in hues of cerise?
Or stood midst the highlands and sought release?
Hast thou heard the laughing of a west wind?
Then darling thou knows' the smiles I’ve grinned.

I’ve seen rainbows birthed in cerulean skies,
Leapt in tidal waters as they did rise,
Ceded my heart to each breath that I’ve sighed,
And there’s naught my love that I’d brush aside.

‘Tis sweet this life that’s been given to me,
She givest pleasure in all that I see,
Yet fairest, the kiss, I’d have from your lips,
For beloved thou art my lunar eclipse.

My heart, these words, will forever be thine,
Love is a temple and thou art my shrine.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Thank-you ARH. I am glad you liked this poem. This is my little pick-me up for the day. I have had the world's worst day. I broke my glasses and it will be Tuesday before I can get in to the optometrist to get an eye exam so I can get a new pair. It is very difficult to write with squinty eyes. LOL

Thank-you Susan. Always a pleasure when you like one of my poems. I am not half the writer that you are...but I try.

Thank-you iliana. How kind and wonderful of you to say such sweet things about my poetry. If I make one person smile...or one heart sigh...these words were worth the effort. Even without glasses.

Hello SEA. Glad you stopped by for the read this morning. Hope the day brings many good things your way and thank-you for the kind words. It makes me smile when you say such sweet things about my poetry.

RSWells. Thank you indeed for the praise. I am humbled. That is a very sweet comment and having you recognize it as being based loosely on the sonnet form...well that is the greatest praise I could have received. Many, many thanks.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Dear Sire, see, yes, for these my eyes
have brushed the likes of such sunrise,
my fingers glazed each line of gleam,
before the sunburst crack'd the dream...

Thank you froggy. I wouldn't say everything I write is beautiful...but lately all I write is romantic pieces. LOL! It just seems easier to write about something worthwhile as of late. Glad you liked this and thanks for being my friend. We have traveled this road together many years now...I am, and always have been, your buddy. Hugs...Kevin.

make me smile? now is that a silly question or what... how could you not see the smile in the swoon. ;-)

lady snow? lol....how formal is that.... but then it does fit that very romantic poet soul of yours.

Hi MGROVES. Thank-you for stopping in to read my poem. This piece has done far better then anticipated I must confess. Honestly I thought it would get 9 hits...no more then that for sure. People sure are proving me wrong today. Not that I mind...but honestly I rarely follow a poems' life here on these pages. One moment it is posted...then it is but a memory for a select few. Each of you has brought a smile to my lips this day...thank-you all dear friends.

Hello nakdthoughts. Thank-you for the compliment about this piece. I am not sure what is meant by the words, "passtime feel," but I know whatever it be it was made with sincerety. Everyone has been very receptive of this piece and it gladdens my heart immensely to feel the love all have proffered. Thank-you so very much dearest friends.

An almost Medieval feel to this, and a darn wonderful one at that.  I hope if Ron has the energy for a new book this one will be in it.  Exquisite!
