Passing Through

To the scab-eyed, passing through
street sweepings of dog dreams
whimpering after porch rabbits
stumbling over a crow’s penknife call,
blind-tooth reality bites
hard on breastbone wishing with
cabled thoughts colandered
into a mind alley trash bin of
recycled gray matters not
when tear scarred poems recite
taunts of marrow left behind
in death colored Autumn.

this is a very powerful poem - this ending really reached inside of me - grabbed me -

Excellent -

Tres edgy. A ranty quality that smacks of impatience. I kinda like the breathless wandering.

Thank you snow, susan and RS for reading.

I had second thoughts on posting this one. I wanted to sit on it for a week or so...but as RS said...."impatience" got the better of me.

Maybe the Winter will freeze the past until the Spring can cleanse it..at least for me, I hope that is the case~~

why does Autumn ever have to end...to me there is a pall that hangs over that season, because I know that death is so close behind.

Yes, Maureen, spring is coming.....it always does.
