we were steal in water
round sided we fit together
like bearings freshly oiled

you said my fingers burned
like a cigar on your eyelids
but you enjoyed the warm

of rough on smooth
and your insides being out
felt better than before

you loved me more
for disrobing your halo
than for leaving it there

on a pillow for sleepers
that just took it for granted
that an angel never sinned
