In the arms of God...

0 posted 2005-01-16 06:19 PM

For all of those that have gone before me...with MUCH love...
I am learning [very slowly, for it's such a long process] on how to let go of their spirit, but keep the love burning and growing for our future meeting.  I guess it will be some thing that I continue to learn thoughout my life for every spirit that touches ours is different.

A Gift
******

Death has a scary way
of stealing those we love.
Though far more times than not
it's a gift from up above.

A gift for whom, you might ask
when you feel that loss.
For those of us who'll be left behind
it comes with such a cost.

No more hugs to make us smile,
no more kisses too.
The only thing we're left with
is a heart that's awfully blue.

Then, one day the pain subsides
and the smiles do return.
We think of happy memories
and for the Other Side we yearn.

For it's on the Other Side you wait
standing with open arms.
To once again share love and peace
and all of Heaven's charms.

So when I say that "it's a gift",
it's for all of us you see.
For one day we all could face
God's wondrous eternity.

No...You must keep the "spirit" of your loved one close to you. The love will not diminish and cannot tarnish.

Nicely done

Thank you so much for the nice replies!

I guess I didn't express myself or my thoughts quite right before I posted my poem.  What I really meant to say was the pain of losing them I am trying to let go of at this point.  I realize that they are always with me, but I don't want to feel the pain of losing them anymore.  Maybe that isn't some thing that will ever fully go away either, but I would rather remember them with smiles and laughter not tears and pain.

Thanks again for stopping by and posting your replies.  Means a LOT!

God bless,
Becka

So very sorry for your loss. It is sad that life on earth is temporary because we do miss terribly at times those who we love  but also your poem to me is very positive and happy because I too do so very very much look forward to seeing my loved ones once again on the Other Side. Enjoyed reading. -Bob

This is a pain that we build upon, and learn to keep that love alive in memories.
This is a treasure to read.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Thomas....thank you for you kind comment.

Bob...yes, it is very sad the ache we feel when our loved ones depart this earth before we do.  But with the amount of suffering I have had to go through in my life [especially over the last year] regarding my "death" and their "ever lasting life"...each one gets a little easier.  And my faith in Him gets stronger.  I sure am glad that God knows what He's doing...cause I sure don't - not that I even need to.   Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to drop off your sweet comments.

kayjay...your comment was so kind...thank you!!

In Christ's Love,

Becka
