Then

The sea
My friend
You were coerced to anger
Cursed, you blend fortune and giving
Blessed, you obey natural - order’s danger

Awaken by earth’s pangs and warnings
A sure profit you are,
My friend
The sea

Yet, concern is within me.

Deafened ears of man
Goats and sheep
Lost or broken in the sand
Resting beneath a palm, fast asleep
No desire to explore or understand, Heaven’s plan

Except your fishes below, where His nature did bestow
Before corruption spread, from man to natural order
Creation’s perfection being complete, in one law
Water and firmament He pressed into living
Separating you from His land
The blessing you my friend,
Most certainly understand

In that moment of separation, in that fallen nature
We became foe and friend,
as you are in man created
Man blended of earth and sea with His hand

Be patient my friend, the sea

Someday we will be re-established
When the prayers of Saints are burned on His alter
When New Jerusalem and the One called Peace, returns
You my friend, will be a’ new
He will awaken His sheep separate His goats
And establish His natural order again

Then
My friend
Then

JL, this is an amazing poem; I had never thought about the separation of land and sea before, really.   .....jo

Yes, this is truly amazing, dear JL. You made a great attempt to explore the imponderable. Dramatically fascinating.

Third poem read...
Third time to shake head
over the awe I am feeling
at the versatility of our poets...

Well done, Sir!
