Between the Lines

Off-Line

The pour of me
sweats out those feelings.
Rain's hardness shattering the quiet.

This storm is not over
and can only result in invisible inked thoughts
placed just so, journalized now, to be recalled
from the deep freeze that will be occurring
in the coming daze.

Those words aren't there,
the invitation of my lips held in waiting,
the wondering of my feelings
never asked upon and the lifting of the fog
always in the distance.

Serenaded by the tone deaf
I hear you in my head
and pace the floor searching,
my reality lost in the unsaid,
my eyes viewing the fault of mischance.

Alterations needed, a tuck here and there
to whether this out, a mind needing only pen and ink
to shape tomorrow's pages, to battle the sighs
sacrificing pleasure for calm,
hope for acceptance
losing less than what shall be gained.

It is not for me to say, nor you to think...
the worth no longer in wait.

M

M.  tis a beauty...and so very crafty how
your word substitution played into the
mix very very well.

this is quite powerful - the entire write is very well done - stirs the emotions-

Though it is sad in its conclusions, you surely have weathered it out in a masterful way, dear Maureen.

... it's tough to sacrifice hope ... but hope will plant itself again into your heart.

Hey you...c'mere
I know this too M, have been there,
felt it and like you have ended
up feeling the worth is no longer
the wait and sometimes it hurts
like hell, but when we get done
"waiting" we usually move on
to better things.

It does get better hon.  HUGS
