Toxic streams,
the memories
stand
rotting;
but the heart,
of me
at least,
no problem --
gone already;
just needs
forgotten.

Stale ideas
of what love is
now swell canals
that harbored us
for just awhile
afloat on hope
of two-oneness;
now stagnate
from the lack
of trust.

A lobotomy,
might it be
the kindest thing
to do with me?
Extract the thoughts
that lay behind
and put them
in the can
defined
“hazardous waste.”

Thanks, ARH.  I appreciate that.  I'm okay, really....just ranting, I guess.  Thank goodness we both have a way to get things out, right?!   .....jo

Good rants
such as this,
certainly aren't
taught in school...

except the school of
hard knocks.

smiling here, very clear and clever write...

parts of human emotion, is never a rant, but more so...a bleeding heart...

I so agree with LeeJ - let the toxic out and breath in the fresh possibilities -

Always fresh at first, love's loaf grows stale, it's mold captured and encapsulated as Penicillin and hope for a cure. Enjoyed

Oh, no. *S* We need your brain intact! *S* For not thinking might be easier... but then you wouldn't be writing great poems like this... and I'm greedy. *G*

Excellent write!!

Smiling at this, even though it has a painful side to it. A good write, Jo, very captivating.

Jo, this poem speaks for many and the only place to dump hazardous waste is in the bin of experience where it simply dies through lack of attention.  But ranting is good - it clears the air.  Well done!

I loved this side of yoru writing, and you nailed it with that name perfectly. I used to save things like this to remind me to be good to me until I   got it right!
