When paradise lost becomes your reality

when loves are lost before your eyes
and the surviving family cries
without feeling comforted,

it’s another day of hell on earth.

Digging with heart and fingertips
to uncover  those lost only to rebury them
but this time, in peace and with dignity.

These are the days of hell on earth.

Tsunami dealt disaster left so many broken hearts,
and right upon its heels Mother Nature deals
another sudden blow
turning mountain into mudflow.
Across the globe from one another
heart’s are broken by Nature’s sudden outburst.

****

This is for all those thousands lost in the tsunami whom I never met,
and for one in La Conchita I chanced to meet long ago.
May your souls rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to Jimmie and Jasmine,
our collective human hearts beat alongside you,
the survivors,
as you say goodbye to your loved ones.

May your spirits dance forever,
Laughing Raven, Paloma-loma-lou,
Happy Hannah, Momma Mechelle too.
And may this truth be forever known,
Sister Jasmine and Daddy Jimmie
loved you true.

And for the others who did not make it
through Nature’s recent wrathful moments,
RIP.

Thank you dear Kacy for sharing your love and compassion in this piece.

Yes those images make us think of hell.... through the screen. And those who are living it in loco are terribly traumatized probably forever. So much help is needed to mend those wounds.

Love, Margherita

Kacy, I heard on the news today about you friend's family.  It is so sad.  As you know, I had the good fortune to be somewhat familiar with that paradise on earth 10 years ago and my heart hurts for the people and the land.   .....jo

This is a touching write, Kacy.  You might add some good thoughts for the man on the USS San Francisco who died as a result of their undersea accident.  Ken

Kacy

Well penned...another of yours that has inspired me...

Into the depths of this, many thousands flung
No one picked, or chosen in particular
Just those in the way of uncontrolled energy;
Bad luck works in unselected ways....

But out of the settled mud, on two sides of the world
Comes relief... muscle bearers, on metal wings
On rubber tires ,and feet... tireless spirits with iron wills.

The watery inferno inspires brave artists;
Using their bodies as brushes, like Dante
Who while wading in hell, still painted Beatrice.

I wish you peace of mind

Thanking each of you.
Ken? Karilea gave us a link one everyone should read, a poem written by a shipmate that highlighted that young man's life, nicknamed "General Cooter."
Ford, that's a beautifully written reply. I especially appreciated the Dante reference.
