Here I am upon my knees (Like this - or would you like me prone?) Tell me what you'd have of me tell me how to approach throne and if there is a ledger kept with all the smiles the tears I've wept can I call in favors yet? Am I in the black regret with all the dumb things I have asked edging me toward the red? If there's any thing I've done that made You smile a birth to sun in some other galaxy Here I am upon my knees praying-- transfer my account-- and punctuated: "pretty please" "Give it all to her" I beg and yet I hear her faithfully whisper: "not my will but Thine" stinging steel winds etching leaf she sings, a rasp humility "Faith" it is the mustard seed and knowing her, profound... |
