Oh friend of night and darkness dwell,
amongst the skies where comets soar.
Amongst the stealth of dawn and night
as moonbeams dust a wooded floor.

And gathered up a bottle full
Each jeweled delight in lumined stir
An onyx bed of evening still
In gaze her eyes eclipsed in blur

And from the flask of crystal sheer
unto the palm of silken feel
A drop shall fall and fill from tears
that which shall come of one's appeal.

Yet there returns enchantment's call
To twinkle skies of distant dream
No matter what takes turn at all
Alight in more than it may seem.

And from the flight of nightly air
a sigh shall grace the moistened lip
of she who dreams in slumber’s flair
and from the glass partakes a sip.

Her eyes closed softly might partake
The certain pleasures given in.
Yet as the stars to slumber wake,
The morn assures that night has been

And from the chill of Winter’s eve
a fire shall burn within the breast
of she as dreams do wrest and leave
before the morn is born and blessed.
...as midnight broaches...

Thanx to each of you for the kind replies...
and a special thanx to my little partner
who graces me with a talent that is far
beyond my own...though she won't admit that!

Thanx K. for the moments,  always a pleasure,
even when I have to use trickery..hehe

So very pleased the way this piece turned out, and appreciate the kind replies from everyone.

It is always a thrill to write with such a masterful poet as The Magnus.

Thank you Barry.
