A LOVERS LUST

From a distance I saw you today.
As anothers hand now reached for you
and as if you were an exstension
of his arm you reached his lips.

I wonder if in those lips
does your body still unfold
in warm gentle silk?

Does he find your sweet aroma
dizzy in his mind still?
As he taste you
over and over again?

Do you intoxicate his soul
with your fragrant mist
as he makes you burn?
Till dawn brings rest
to the graveyarders shift.

Or does he taste the harsh
burn of lungs?
In that venemous taste
as you brand another
pawn.

I wonder if he still feels
your first kiss?
That ushered secretly
death
upon its meet.

Was well it worth?
The grief of wife.
As a fatherless world of one
gets left behind.

Would he taste of your
bitter fruits again my love?
Knowing your seduction
is but smoke and mirror
masking the slow death
that awaits him.

So sad. Lust has blinded many and ruined far more.

My goodness! As I read this poem I was thinking that you were lucky to get out of that relationship alive! She sounds like a man eater! Then in one of your replies I read that you were referring to cigarettes! ~ I suppose my response still applies! lol

This was an intriguing write! I really enjoyed reading it! ~ both times! The second time with the ciggy puffs as the femme fatale!

Good morning to you!

So very clever your masterful write...the intoxication of smoke is such a powerful image...and I suspect what eludes to a love affair is quite right on.
Write on.

Wow...good for you Soulfisher!  I will be praying for you as you continue on your "cold turkey"!  Nothing hurts more than to lose a loved one to an illness that could have been prevented.  [I ought to know as we lost a dear loved one by the name of Auguste here due to those life stealers.]  Keep your will to quit those horrible things and you will save yourself and family from a heartbreaking end.

Good luck and God Speed....

Wonderful write..much enjoyed.
And..you can do it..I quit over 10 years ago.
I know the feeling, at first it was like losing my best friend.
All the best to you!

Well my critique is always gentle....as well as my touch~

So great to hear that you have quit smoking, and that you are penning poems about it, keep it up and you will overcome it. If you dream it, you can achieve it!
