Black is the deep of the coming night
Shadowed from moon’s bright glow
Where all colors seep in to one
Creating the mysteries unknown

Black holds treasures oft unseen
Hidden from casual pry
Where beauty as a rose doth grow
Apparent only to seeking eye

Black is the feel of velvet wrap
The warmth of sainted womb
Wherein crying soul may hide
From gray of pending doom

Black is the hue which guards the door
To fragile and tender heart tears
Camouflage from the calloused assault
That many an assailant would bear

Black is the garment in which I attire
For in its sleek sweep flow
I silhouette the breadth of me
Letting only my shallows show

Black is the deep of the coming night
Shadowed from moon’s bright glow
Where all colors seep in to one
Creating the mysteries unknown

You wear the color well, Susan~
I liked the velvet wrap,  and the warmth it lends most of all.

Looking good on you lady~

Susan, I like the color black in clothes especially. This is beautiful, though it does feel sad. You are such a good writer, you can make even sad beautiful..

Have done a poem too on a black colour theme, there's so much to refer to...enjoyed
your interpretation.

I love the color black! ~ Well, actually, black is the absence of color! It expresses the yin in me. I also love white which is the reflection of all colors and it is an expression of the yang in me.

You have done a wonderful job of showing the mysterious and calming aspects of black.
I love your poetry! It is so varied in style, mood, and theme!

Big hugs,
Linda

Susan, I just noticed your new photo! It's fabulous! I had been missing your "Mona Lisa" photo, but this one is also terrific!

Yes Susan,

Black is the garment in which I attire
For in its sleek sweep flow
I silhouette the breadth of me
Letting only my shallows show

all of that,  and more...is you.  And I
thank you very much for the new pic.

this was absolutely beautiful...and couldn't help but think while reading, how much I love the night...it's gloriously mysterious and comforting to sit outside and allow it to wrap itself around you....with the stars for a ceiling...and the sounds of summer nights, eveloping your whole being...Nature is certainly incredible.
