This is how much I thought I knew you. I hand you over my bridges. Don't burn them down. Don't break them down. Let them take you places. Somewhere warm somewhere welcome. Somewhere we could meet and be good friends one day. I don't want to have to die to meet you but I am. I hand you over my bridges
Don't burn them down. Don't break them now. Let them take you places.

i will be of one command.
sometimes it's the hardest thing you can do.

I hand you over my bridges

Now there's a thought, and I like it a lot!

Hi John

Your poem made me feel sad....and also made me think.  I think everyone has their own bridges, ya know...made from the small and large terror or joy that has been their own.  So, I don't think you can give your bridges....but I'm glad that you made me think about it.  I wish you well.

You expressed it very well, I am at this place and the gate to the bridge has just been closed and locked~

As Martie mentions your bridges are yours to keep; you may help someone get across one
as you would help one to gain access to something new but that is different...keep writing about how life affects you

I'll try. As for handing over your bridges I'm laughing my butt off inside my head. I think you can hand anyone anything. Here's my gift there goes your hand. That's what I think of that response about not being able to hand over your bridges. Man is able to move mountains. Why not a bridge?
I luv ya all though. I think it's halarious. You just gave me writer's block.
