The snow
rests thick and white
on distant roofs.

A white mist
fills the air.

Light falls
as now reveals
the white house,
the life
I might have lived.

A woman
in the kitchen
makes a meal.
The kids
tell Dad
of their day in school.

At night,
the man, with his wife,
lies in bed,

amid the silence
of white walls.

like a voyeur...

great stuff.  I still watch with envy when I see a little girl with a loving father...ah yes, the life we might have had...
