You're polished
to perfection,
a tool of precision,
your mastery impeccable
of the lexicon,

a gold star
for your
syntax and syllabus,

(you know your stuff)

you dress to the nines
when you waltz
upon this blue dancefloor,

commanding control
of the room,

(i try not to
look up, but i do)

a poet grandiose
born to the breed

white tux and tails
were made for you,

(though you deny it)

giving kudos instead
to your supposed
humble beginnings,

i applaud you,

every time you dot an i
or cross a tee,
which i sloppily forget,
to intercept, most times
within my own rhymes,

you're well versed
and better bred
than one like me
for sure,

you're fred astaire
and clark gable,
icons of a generation
that made a girl
from the swamps of brooklyn, both
swoon and never feel good enough for,
all in the same glance upon,

i admire you
but i'd never tell you
(though i toss you a rose every now and then)

you probably think
i'm just some flaky broad,
if you think anything much
of a girl like me, at all.

I know exactly how you feel - at times I feel the same - in awe of the talent so obvious here upon the pages of blue - and there are a number of very talented male poets that could wear that tux -

You dance divinely yourself -

ma'am... this has to be one of the best things I have read in a while... for its structure..for its honesty and for the imagery you use as well....

doesn't matter who it was written for or about... it stands on its own ...

enjoyed... a great deal

Ink...thank you for this...
IWIHWT...indeed, I do...

but you did it justice,
and the men are smiling,
thinking, hoping...
dreaming...

You have such an honest to goodness flair, that is like none other, girlielocks.

Why don't you come out and curtsey for us!
and don't be shy, loose lips...
Seriously, I applaud you and your endless talent, Michele.

Michele, every time I read another of your poems, I'm more in awe than with the one of yours I read before.Your poetry is so real, yet written so well.

And, whoever was in your mind when you wrote this one, should be very proud. But, even though there are lots of poets here who could feel that position, Michele, you never need to lower your eyes or feel inferior, because you are right up there on the same level with the best writers here.... no matter where you come from, my friend.
Hugs to you,
Ethel

Ahhh,  now you, a blonde that defies the
logic of many....for you are one smart lady.
And you have turned all the heads of all
us male Passions poets..and we sit, asking
quietly in a whisper only we can hear...
am I?...do I?
