Beautiful Winter Morning
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

After a deep and peaceful sleep, I
stepped out of my lake-side cabin
into the sunlight of a beautiful
winter morning. The sparkling air
filled my senses like crisp, white
wine, and the endless sky was a calm,
unclouded blue. The pure hushed world
of winter was comforting as I savored
the peace and tranquility of a silent
forest blanketed by snow. Stately
pines, with their mantle of white,
appeared as sable-clad sentinels
guarding the virginity of this
untouched land. As I walked around
the frozen shoreline, the serenity
of the scene affected me deeply. Far
from the maelstrom of human existence,
a cleansing energy washed through me
and I began to feel renewed.

These days in the snow-covered wilderness
have had a restorative effect on me,
and once again, I am
filled with the joy
of living.

Wonderful Linda!
We awoke to a winter wonderland this morning.
Watch those roads...it's slippery.
Hugs YOU!

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

Yes, bravo - when wintered in the virgin still of the mountain and kissed by the hush of solitude - it is then when the white veil of the ice queen is most appreciated - I miss my mountain - this gifts a brief kiss of rememberance - thank you

This is gorgeous, both the picture and the picture you paint with your words.  It's peace and tranquility.

Howdy, Pilgrim!

This is the first picture that I have ever posted (except for my last poem "Quantum Leap" where I posted (actually Ethel kindly posted!) a painting I did on my computer.

Nice to hear from you this cold, snowy day up here in Ontario! Don't be such a stranger!

Big hug,

Margherita ~

You can join ilana and me and a host of our other PiP friends on a winter wonderland walk beyond compare! I'll even serve up hot cider, mulled wine, and hot cocoa after our stroll is the frosty air. Then I'll give everyone a free reflexology treatment ~ and a Tarot reading! lol

Friends are fun to have!

Love & Hugs,
Your friend,
Linda
