Of Thumb and Plum

The nature of the plum that clung
A misting essence of a sum
Left sweet upon my sense of tongue
A thought provoking bygone plum

And now it haunts my memories lane
With wiles and dreams of other goals
It walks the midnight of my sane
And lights the shadows in my soul

I never thought the consequence
Beyond the sweet of taste and done
It was an act of impudence
A fantasy of over run

It swallowed me in mist of time
Twisted in my base and core
And squeezed the lime of my sublime
To hide from me that sense of awe

And now I need another life
To set the wound and right the strife

Well, you've already got mine...
and a few more lives, I would think,
who wait each morn for thoughts that are born,
as they sit reading, from their own life's brink...

Good Thursday morning, Sy!

~Morning hugs & tea, Nancy~

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.
