I know this poem is a couple of days late, but I have been so busy lately. Enjoy!

The holidays are filled
with times of joy and happiness:
Sipping hot chocolate on a cold winter evening,
While decorating the tree with trinkets
Such as snow flakes and angels,
Brightening a spirit
as each one is placed just so.
And on Christmas day:
Watching those who are loved smile
As they eagerly unwrap a special gift
Given gratefully,
Lifting a heart once more.
The colors, the songs
So beautiful in their simplicity,
Capture, consume, create,
Many many memories.
My heart is filled
with joy and happiness:
You surround me with care,
While decorating my heart with hopes
such as redemption and safety,
Brightening my spirit
As each replaces just so.
And on each and every day,
I smile wonderingly,
As I go about my day
because of a unique gift of love
that will lift my heart forever more.
Your sweet symphony,
So striking in its simplicity,
Encircles, encloses, includes,
My many many melodies;
All of which are sung in perfect harmony,
But only because of you.
