There are cicumstances in our lives
Of which I never write to you about
Situations beyond mine and his control, beyond your understanding
That if we could change we would, with no doubt

At times life just does not seem fair
For searching all our lives, we never could find
A love such as we have together
Though we both tried with others our hearts to bind

Yet there was always something missing
When with those others we would try
What we have found with each other
Is where reality of our dreams lie

So why, oh why, we ask each moment
Do things the way they are, have to be
Why do we keep having to be apart
And every single day, each other not to see

For this way is our reality now
The apart with circumstance is real
So hearts of unhappy and pain
Both of us do most often feel

For where my Love is, I can not stay
And if I could I certainly would
The circumstance beyond our control
We would change if only we could........

Just do it. Let everything else fall where it will. I bet it wouldn't be as bad as you think...your happiness is what is important now.

Well, now I know it's not about your health ~ and that is one less thing for me to worry about.

Yes, I have gathered through many of your poems in the past that there are circumstances that keep you and your Honey Bear physically apart ~ but never your souls or hearts. ~ and souls and hearts are even more important.

I hope and pray that in 2005 things will turn around for you and Gary and that there will be no degrees of separation on any level. Lovebirds are meant to always be together!

Ethel,

I've never had a "long distance relationship," at least at the intimacy level of yours and Gary's, but I do so admire your Love, Affection, and Devotion that you have expressed long term here on these pages for the one who you truly truly Love. I don't know what your relationship is now facing, but having read the past, its very difficult for me to believe otherwise than that things will somehow work out for the both of you. God bless and help the both of you through this trying time in your relationship. -Bob
