(*Note- while checking out the poetry workshop, I found a Spitball challenge from Dr. Moose, and just had to take it, but for some reason or other, it wouldn't post there, soooooo... here it is.)

               Lesson 101

(Setting:  Elementary school restroom)

“She’s out there, she’s out there
Hurry up please,
I’ll get the Charmin
And between ya teeth tweeze

Ya suck up the s’liva
From deep in ya throat,
Wet da tissue  so upon
tongue’s tip it’ll float

Ya tongue is da trigger
so cock back ya head,
Let it springggg forward
Tissue bullets, no lead.

“Yuuuuck, dis stuff sticks to ya tongue,
        Not to da walls!”

       “Hurry up, hurry up
        She’s pacing da halls!”

Thhhhhoooooosh splausht
(Ya missed, jist as I thought!)
Yar such a spit wadder flunkie…
OH NOoooo-here comes  Miss Rumpke!

    “Now, gentlemen, gentlemen
     please take note
     Consider angular momentum
     The next time you gloat!

And to you, I’d like to introduce
     The custodian of our school;
     He has the ladder and
And a little lesson for you-a!"

Eric and Dixie,

Thanks for humoring me by reading the silly in me.  I appreciate your responses.

Maureen,

A teacher?  Whoa!  I wonder what it'd be like!  Can you imagine walking in on a spitball fight, or worse, being the target?  I had a first year algebra teacher who was the target of sophomore pranks.  He really was a pretty good teacher, but I think the spitballs got the best of him!  I often wonder what happened to him when he left our school at the end of the year.  Good luck to you if you pursue the profession.  I'm sure it is very rewarding.

Ah spit balls - merely a myth in my youth - the boys in our school always seemed to take things to a higher level - especially in physics class (hehe)

Enjoyed this -

I've (almost) always gone to really tiny schools so we could never do pranks... everyone knew where eveveryone was and what they were doing all the time. We did have much better opportunity for blackmail and bribes, though!

Great poem!

Blackmail, GG?  Hm....

I'm not sure when I'll be online, so I'll wish everyone an early Happy New Year.  Wishing you a safe and happy one,
