Written in the sand,
the line curves to my arm's length....
Round, blue horizon....

Ed...I love this!  Can you translate what is written in the sand, it's kind of hard to read.

A beautiful and most picturesque thought expressed here regarding the swoop of God's arm. Thank you for sharing. -Bob

Good thought, Martie...thanks!

It's another Senryu I put there, for whatever bird left the feather I was using to scratch it in the sand.

His many feathers
bear him up so easily;
I must fly with one.

The Senryu in the sand is very touching to me, Ed...because I have a feather collection and I love birds.  Thanks for the translation!

It's actually a pick-up version of one I wrote some time ago.....

Crow Feather Jealousy

The crow, flinging scraps
of voiceless sound at me,
flies away heavy.
Am I so jealous,
throwing a rock to chase him,
glad a loose quill falls?
He has a thousand feathers;
I must fly with only one.

I wasn't gonna squat there and scribble all THAT in the sand!

Oh-- and I KEPT the feather! Not a collector except for the occasional very special gift I find, but it does feel kinda nice to have it sitting in front of me as I type this.

Lovely - as is the story held within the heart of the penning -

The story is as good as the writing, Ed.  I enjoyed both.  Well done. Ken

It was more than worth a bit of squint to read the senyru in the picture... and squint I did... not realizing the translation came later! *G* Actually... I'm glad I didn't realize... for I could feel each letter's tracing in the sand. *S* (I read it right, by the way... *G*)

This is one of the reasons I consider you a poet without peer... one work inspires another inspires another inspires another poet... and the layering gives only gain... nothing is lost.

Beautiful work, my friend... I think His smile curves with this one. *S*
