Ashes of desire

Ashes of desire smolder
Turning white and growing older
Slowing down my sense of rhyme and
Gifting me more sleeping time

Where plays my knight of youth in dream
Adventures of a youthful theme
That tilts the windmills in my way
And smoothes me with its daily stay

Where hearing needs no aid to hear
And seeing needs no glass to clear
Where past and present grow the seed
Of all that you would ever need

Each wake up to the dew of dawn
Brings new glory to the morn and
Clouds fly bye in hues of grand
That once more lights the firebrand

Where ever is a pantry shelf
That turns each life within itself

Sy,
It must be the smoldering ash, but I find my eyes watering!

You'll always be a knight in my book.

  Merry Christmas, Sir Sy!

Nothing like an extra little naptime as we get older Seymour   "sleep per chance to dream" my poetic knight and when you waken ... your magic pen is waiting.
May you and your dear wife have a wonderful Christmas and a happy-healthy New Year!
