A Man Is What He Is I cannot help but ponder, Of how things might have been. If I had only known the things, That I know now, back then. I wonder what I'd not have done- And what I might have changed? If fights I'd have avoided- Retreat's I'd have arranged. My thoughts still dwell on happiness- That one finds in romance. And if I'd change the man I am- If I had a second chance? But, sadly, friend, I must conclude- That ignorance is bliss, And, while hindsight's twenty-twenty, A man is what he is. |
