From the East they came
With wisdom in their heads
They were told
The Messiah had been born

And near the stable in Bethlehem
The shepherds lay down in the field
They too had seen the star
And were waiting, quietly

They all came together
And knelt at the crib
In hope of a peaceful earth
Each year, again and again
