Fog Bound

We walked today, alone together.
A candle in a cottage window
through the trees
seemed to neighbor with our mood.
A smudge of light, though less than perfect,
hoped to match the color in your face.
Of course it couldn't.
Still, when you returned,
in that instant,
I recalled the ruddy look of what had been
the pulse and breath
of our exertion.

The solitude of that walk sounds so inviting...

and the exertion sounds completely exhilarating...

Bob

You are able to capture the scene so well and the feelings...I could picture this.  Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas time.
