Valley of Stone
By Paul Wilson

I scream as my heart echo's
it's time too tell you goodbye
Questions without any answers
I walk the thin line of why

I'll never know the answer
the question is always there
Should I stay or should I go
would anyone really care

I walk the valley of stone
stopping too visit old friends
I look towards the heavens
and ask...is this how it ends?

Why have some passed so quickly
when others are here so long
They cross the river of life
as my mind screams...this is wrong

The bells are ringing today
for another one called home
My tears are falling for them
as I leave the valley of stone

I'll leave you too your journey
I've got one too make of my own
Maybe someone will visit me
one day in the valley of stone

Oh my friend Paulie, thank you

(and it never does feel right, does it?)

sigh

but c'mere and hug me

yer a doll.

The Valley of Stones....I was reading your comments concerning constructive critiques,
"I just try to write with feeling from my heart and hope that my poems help to make things better in some way for the people that read them." You suceeded.

Paul,
This is a hard one to respond to because it holds so much truth and could fit many situations.  I feel it deeply.  Great write!

"Valley of Stone" ~ I never thought of a graveyard in those terms ~ but that is exactly what it is! I'm sorry to say this, but I will most likely be thinking of you from now on whenever I visit or pass by a graveyard! ~ However, when I am delivered to a valley of stone as my final physical resting place, I suspect my spirit and thoughts will be elsewhere! lol

Good to read your words again! They were very moving.
