~*~

Snow drifts in a flurry
however the flakes remain
imperfect in their patterns.

Like the sound of your laughter
I imagined
blowing across my bangs
hanging stars from my eye lashes
blushing rosy on my cheeks.

Like cashmere in the mist used to keep me warm
was the purest joy I had ever known
seems so trite and cliche'
when my memory strays and becomes meaningless.

As the temperature drops
clouding my cover in a shiver
I'll never forget to remember
the burst of color in the sunlight
arranged in a spring bouquet
hard pressed between the pages
would be my valentine in the meantime.

Those seedlings so far and few between
now feed the sound of silence
piercing the heart at a distance
lacing the edges of my sighs
framing a picture of you in mind
gives me no reason to miss you now,
but I do.

Like a frozen rain trickles down a stream
condensing on my pain
enough to fill a reservoir
no longer draws me in
or dares me to cross a pond
that wouldn't hold me.

Even though I still look for you
waving out my window in the heat of the night
easing the winter chill that softens my smile
reflecting in my rearview
going nowhere.

As a footnote in the aftermath
where the water falls and rises
melting in the stillness
before crashing against the damn
that would break me.

girl, nobody writes emotion the way that you do and with your style....

You have missed dear friend, it is good to see you hear.  May the holidays and New Years hold all that is good and wonderful for you.  Be safe and May God Hold you in his hands...

rain when frozen
is still the love drop
just moving slower

when god gives it warm
and says go find her
and make her mouth wet

This poem flows so well and it is so easy to identify with your words.  I can see so many pictures.  Season's best to you.

It is difficult for me to find the words sometimes to thank you for all the nice things you said....makes me feel that my writing is worthwhile, and I thank you so much for encouraging me.

Happy Holidays to each of you, and every good wish in the New Year.

With love, and many many hugs~

Whenever you may doubt
The beauty of your verse,
Reread these posts and praise we send;
You really could do worse.

We all take pen to make our stand
And tell the world our tale.`
It's when we open up our hearts,
It's then they're free to sail.

Well done, Bluesy and a most Merry Christmas!
Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

So much behind this....and reading it I can see you as if the poem were a window and you standing behind it, the human center of a structure made to be transparent while keeping out the cold winds.

This poem is excellent, and I'm pushing the Library button.
