Listening to every heart

Solstice on the Cusp

The moon shines, hanging half full
like a Christmas stocking in wait,
with only nuts encased, anticipating winter.

Tomorrow…she,   the chilled maiden,    becomes.
Solstice teased all climes, then starry skied above me
having sent a last late summer day to Kansas
just this yestermorn,  ‘twas
not a dog day, or a fall day, but a later kiss
of summer’s sun so south….it harbored light…

warming other continents.

Later means just that, in the southern climes;
for they do not say
goodbye
adios
or any other term that portends
final

No…just…the influence of

later…a promise to return, come back,
visit again, be welcome once more…

Later…

winter only lasts one long icy breath…and then melts
when you return.

Sighs are an icy comfort…

For when you come again?  Know,
I have been here, waiting,
for more.

As life is young, so does age realize
that more is a behest,
and better becomes you.

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

Thank you for writing this Karilea~
I hear your whispers loud and clear and they mean a great deal to me.

I really like this...yes it's difficult to say goodbye--later is better, and the seasons take us through a facsimile of life as well, living and dying----a continuem of the circle!

Sissie

"later"...I think I've heard that word before.  Love this poem's beauty and wisdom.

I have always enjoyed circle games, the earth turns in that kind of circle, holding hands with the sun..

You said that here, don't ya know....

Later Sunshine.

(Wink!)

I love that. I skipped reading this piece earlier because I was headed to supper. Glad I came back to read it though...because I would have missed something special had I not.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
