The Sleeping Lady lies
Nestled in the arms
Of the Cascades towering
Dressed in green bough ruffle
And silent satin sweep
Blanketed by fresh fallen snow
In soft white billows
Draped in the magical shimmer
Of frost kissed diamonds
Drifting in quieted slumber
To the hushed lullaby of Grandmother Wind
Guarded by the watchful eye
Of wise old Grandfather Moon
Encircled within the guarding whispers
Of ancient Shaman blessings
She lies in wait for her children
To come rest upon her breast
And taste the succor
Of soul felt reprieve

note: the Sleeping Lady is a resort that is nestled in the quiet of isolation in the Cascade mountains.  There is no TV or automated entertainment - it is a place for recovery of the inner peace so denied us by the pace of the outside world -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Susan-

Enjoyed this moment of muffled forest and frosty breath in Cascade rapture.

Susan

You carry your inner still within you.

I tend to call these places Bolt Holes.

If you make South Wales try Misking Manor.

I can't afford now, I wish I could.

Dave

She is a lovely place - restful, beautiful - especially blanketed in snow -

Ah Dave - but for the generosity of my employers that sent us for the stay, I could not have afforded such a retreat myself - well, I guess I should say allowed myself such an indulgence

Hugs all - Susan

Smiling - perhaps we should have a poet's retreat there?  Could be fun
