A lone brook
descending a crag

the hollow of a cheekbone

forges its path
like an old war wound,
through a forest bed.

If you happen to stumble
upon this wooded bank,
Would you witness
crayfish and salamander
darting from the day
to berth beneath bones
or would you see
strands of hair
skating as gossamer
upon glass?

Perhaps, you would glimpse
a stream,
turning over upon itself
in preparation
of yet another frost.

All I ask
is when you fall to your knees
among crumpled plaits
to cushion your weary limbs,
is to toss a wish to the wind.

So it may float upstream
and be granted.

Aw littlewing,
Nice thoughts you pen and share. Thanks.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

"toss a wish to the wind"
yes, and when it arrives, know that it is wrapped in warmth, for your happiness and health.

Sue

Wishing you the colors that wrap you in gladness and the wind that blows your hair and tells you how beautiful you look that way.
